Indian Dance Club provides a platform for students to learn various Indian dance genres including classical, contemporary, folk and tribal dances. Students meet once a week to learn and practise intricate steps and at the same time enjoy putting in team effort to collectively produce a good performance.
The Indian dance club members have performed in various stage performance like;
SYF dance extravaganza @ Bukit Panjang Plaza, TTSH (Tan Tock Seng Hospital) performance, Kalithiran Event, Deepavali Concert@adps, Deepavali show performance at Maju Camp, to name a few.
The Indian Dance CCA also organised a workshop focusing on an Indian folk dance. Students from two other schools were invited to attend the workshop and learn to choreograph their own dance steps. Students had an enriching learning experience together. The Club also reached out to the community by sharing Indian Dance steps with K1 and K2 students from a neighbouring kindergarten in two workshops conducted within two CCA days. Students were able to apply some leadership skills as they facilitated the learning process for the little kindergartners. They had a challenging, yet enjoyable time doing so.
